Privacy policy

This policy explains what happens to personal data when you visit this website, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG).

1. Controller

Smarter World e.U., Sterngasse 4, 1230 Vienna, Austria. Email office@smarterworld.ai, phone +43 660 9673650. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as we are not required to under Art. 37 GDPR.

2. What this site collects

Server log files. Our hosting provider automatically records each request: IP address, date and time, page requested, referrer, browser and operating system. This is technically necessary to deliver the site and to protect it against attack. Legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Logs are retained only as long as needed for security analysis.

Your theme preference. If you switch the site to night mode, that choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key sw-theme. It never leaves your device, contains no personal data, and is not used to recognise you. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Contact by email. If you write to us, we process the content of your message and your contact details in order to reply and, where relevant, to take pre-contractual steps. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and to satisfy statutory retention obligations.

No tracking. This website sets no advertising or analytics cookies, runs no tracking pixel, and does not build profiles of visitors.

3. Recipients and third-party services

Delivering this site involves the following processors and providers. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, it is covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

4. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data (Art. 15), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.

To exercise any of these, write to office@smarterworld.ai.

5. Right to complain

If you believe we are handling your data unlawfully you may lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna — dsb.gv.at.

6. Changes

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The current version always applies.

[ Two things to action before this goes live ]
1 — Google Fonts, GSAP and Lenis currently load from third-party CDNs, which transmits visitor IPs abroad. Austrian and German rulings have treated Google Fonts this way as a GDPR issue. Self-hosting all three removes the transfer entirely and the two CDN bullets above with it — say the word and I'll do it.
2 — Have a lawyer read this. The company details are taken from your existing Impressum and the data flows described are exactly what this site does, but only a qualified adviser can confirm it is sufficient for your business.
