Fifteen years inside the world I now serve.

Mohammad Walker, Vienna

I spent the better part of fifteen years running training operations across the Gulf region — building teams, fixing systems, and learning what actually moves the needle inside an education business when the spreadsheet doesn’t match what’s happening on the floor.

An MBA from the University of Liverpool sharpened the framing. The work since then — including a stretch helping operate Gym 23 in Vienna, the largest MMA gym in Europe and home of UFC light heavyweight Aleksandar Rakić — sharpened the practice. I work in Arabic and English, raise three kids, and still box four times a week because it keeps the work honest.

Now I split my time between two things: building growth and community engines for a small set of founder-operators in training, education, and combat sports — and putting capital and time into the ones I want to be in business with for a long time.

How I think about the work.

I don’t sell hours. I don’t sell decks. I work with a small number of operators per year, deeply, and I’d rather turn down ten engagements than take one I can’t make great.

The best work I’ve done has come out of long relationships with founders who wanted a partner more than a vendor. That’s the bar.

I also build my own. KOZ Boxing is my brand — premium boxing equipment with an AI coaching layer that analyzes form, runs live voice coaching, and prescribes training and nutrition protocols. Building inside the category I serve keeps the work honest. kozboxing.com
